Hormonal Imbalance In Women

Getting old is a natural process which has to be faced by every woman who reaches maturity. Along with this natural ageing process there is the problem of a decrease in the hormonal level which in turn causes hormonal imbalance affecting the overall functioning of the body.

Due to hormonal imbalance and it's related problems the life of the women is likely to also become affected in terms of not only the physical but also the emotional and even social relationships as many of the physical problems lead to many types of internal problems which affect the emotions of ageing females.

It is middle age when most women go through the menopausal stages which is a by product of the hormones and gives rise to many physical problems like hot flashes, decrease in libido and mood swings that are considered to be a normal part of life and therefore no measures are taken to treat these problems even though they often lead to other psychological problems like depression, inferiority complex and temporary loss of memory. Sadly due to lack of knowledge many women do not understand these sudden changes which take place in their body and mind.

Causes Of Hormonal Imbalance In Women

Hormones in WomenBefore the causes of hormonal imbalance can be understood it is necessary to understand the hormonal balance that is required in a woman's body. The two important hormones in a woman's body are estrogen and progesterone. There is a direct connection between these two hormones as the increase in one hormone automatically increases the level of the other and the same fact is applicable when the level of any hormone decreases.

The main cause of hormonal imbalance is in the excess production of estrogen which cannot be balanced by progesterone. The excess production of estrogen is caused by the lifestyle of the woman like nutrition, stress, ovulation and physical activities. The other factors that affect the hormones in the body are regular intake of contraceptive pills, exposure to household chemicals and the inhaling of the harmful gases from the polluted environment.

Symptoms Of Hormonal Imbalance In Women

In this modern age it has been found that women tend to develop the symptoms of hormonal imbalance at an early age and if these symptoms are ignored and not treated properly then they are very likely to escalate during mature years. The main symptoms that can be commonly seen due to hormonal imbalance in women are headaches, dizziness, fatigue, hair loss, anxiety, urinary tract infection, obesity, wrinkles on the skin as well as other problems like water retention and bloating.

The loss of energy due to hormonal imbalance leads to a feeling of chronic fatigue which make them lose the ability to work quite as energetically as they once did. But it is not all bad news as many hormonal imbalances can be easily overcome by simply adjusting ones lifestyle and bringing in changes in the overall eating habits.
